“Adrienne is an artist who can make you feel all the feels. ” - – Shane Adams, president of Artist Accelerator, Berklee professor
Adrienne Bilodeau
Adrienne is a bilingual singer-songwriter born and raised in Saskatchewan. An 80s rocker at heart, she also dabbles in folk, pop and adult contemporary music. From inventing songs in the back seat of the family station wagon to studying classical piano at the University of Ottawa, she can’t remember a time when she wasn’t singing or playing.
It wasn’t until 2017 that Adrienne started telling her own stories through music and song. She loves exploring different genres and styles and she’s known for her insightful lyrics, haunting melodies and creative accompaniments. Her ability to express universal experiences in a very personal, intimate style helps her build emotional connections with listeners. She isn’t afraid of digging deep to write music that makes listeners feel seen and heard, that describes experiences they can relate to.
Adrienne has performed as a solo artist in the Regina area since 2018, and more recently as part of the backup band for local singer-songwriter ADEOLUWA.
In October 2023, she worked with the team at Sask One Mic Recording, under Matthew Facca, to record her first music video, Letters. Over the last five years, she’s also gained some experience in the recording studio:
· In February 2023, she completed a mentorship program with producer Dave Lawlor through the Conseil culturel Fransaskois, during which she recorded on her first French songwriter demo, Elle rêvait, while learning arranging techniques.
· For the 2021 Canadian Songwriting Challenge, Adrienne and Helen Chang recorded a songwriter demo of a prog rock song they co-wrote, Scorched Earth, with Regina producer, Les Schaeffer.
· In 2019, she recorded two songwriter demos of her original works Letters and Original Me with Regina producer Ryan Hicks.
A member of the online group 100 Days of Songwriting since the fall of 2020, Adrienne’s had the opportunity to learn from the group’s key mentor, Shane Adams, president of Artist Accelerator and Berklee professor. She’s also participated in the Regina Regional Writers Group, three Songs4Nature camps and the 2021 Canadian Songwriting Challenge, learning and co-writing with local artists.
Adrienne studied classical piano for twenty years, completing a Bachelor of Music in piano pedagogy at the University of Ottawa and an Associateship in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Since the age of eight, she’s sung solo and with various groups and choirs in both official languages in a variety of genres. Since high school, she’s played keyboard and sung lead and backup vocals in amateur rock-pop-folk groups, as well as accompanying and directing church choirs.
